I want to learn spectroscopy, but don't know where to start from. If anyone can tell me a systematic approach to study this subject, that will be a great help for me. Thanks!

First of all, you have to join B.Tech. or M.Tech course in Chemical Engineering or Masters degree course in Chemistry to learn spectroscopy.
If you already have spectroscopy as a subject for your course, then you have to keep the following things in mind before reading a book:-
1) Spectroscopy is based on the interaction of light radiation with matter.
2) You must have clear idea about the basic concepts of chemistry, i.e., structure of molecules, bonding in molecules etc.
3) Effect of various factors like electronegativity, resonance, conjugation, dipole moment etc on bonding, and hence on the interaction with light.
4) Wave length, wave number and frequency of different types of radiation.
5) Basic quantum mechanics.
If you have the basic knowledge of chemistry, then it becomes easier to study spectroscopy. For more information, you can ask some professionals working in this field.
Hope this helps.
