Lithium is better because of its light weight and it has the maximum oxidation potential.
Having a large oxidation potential means more voltage for a battery, which is always appreciated.
Having a lightweight allows us to handle the battery with ease.
Also, for safety reasons. Lithium when it reacts with water it's kinda slow and not as explosive (however it will still produce hydrogen gas!). For potassium and sodium, please search for their reactions with water and you will see that they are very explosive and react fast. Therefore, if anything bad happens, at least lithium won't give that much trouble compared to sodium or potassium!
