Well........in opinion.......yes .........we should because it would help for experimenting the production of pharmaceutical drugs, experimental medicine (e.g. gene therapy), and agriculture (e.g. golden rice),etc.

if ur going to alter stuff, make sure its not a major gene at least. and control the test samples pls. we dont want a new strain of virulent small pox or something like that
