Are we sure the universe is expanding? The red-shift of the galaxies light(correct?) could be due to the dista

He says (in an interview on the space show) that he has no theory to replace the big bang, only that he thinks the big bang is wrong.......

Once emitted, if a photon does not interact with anything else, there is nothing to make it "tired" along the way because, from its frame of reference, the voyage is instantaneous.

That's the "tired light theory" of redshift.
It's pretty much defunct, for a variety of reasons. It does, however, have its supporters, and those supporters have made a political thing out of it, sort of like creationism. People who are sure the Big Bang Theory is wrong often believe in the tired light theory and also that "mainstream physics" is in a conspiracy against it.
But really, the Big Bang theory has thousands of confirming observations.

Some people have assumed that light could develop a red shift as it gets "old". Eric Lerner suggests that as one possible explanation of the red shift, but he does not say for sure that it is, because like everyone else he can't prove that. He says (in an interview on the space show) that he has no theory to replace the big bang, only that he thinks the big bang is wrong.
