Our daughter wanted to see it as well and she said she wanted to get a picture of it. I thought it was strange, but is...

JimZ say: I am an amateur nature photographer and there may be a good picture in a morbid scene as well. I took picture of a dead loon about a month ago. It was a mated pair and about a week later I took a picture of the surviving animal. For me, it was very emotional seeing that lone loon and for me it is the most emotionally impacting photo I have. I don't think it is necessarily morbid. It isn't like she was making something up. Maybe she merely wanted to document what was real.
Here it is but it will have less impact without seeing the surviving animal.
