I have a fully furnished basement and in the past couple of days there have been a LOT of spiders! I don't really see them during the day tho... it seems like they come out a lot more at night. I'm guessing there are so many because it's so damp out. How do I get rid of these spiders?! PLEASE HELP!

In the northern hemisphere, it is spring time. The warmer weather has spiders more active, and eggs that have been hidden to winter over are hatching. Other insects that spiders feed on are also becoming active.
True, most spiders are nocturnal and are most active at night.
You don't 'need' to get rid of the spiders, in fact, spiders prey on many other insects that you would like less. The spiders are not going to pose any threat to you at all,and if you became a little more familiar with them you would feel a lot more comfortable in their presence.
You will never completely rid spiders, but you can keep them under control with routine cleaning with a vacuum and maybe some non toxic sticky traps.

They/spiders made your basement their favorite hangout, be glad it`s not those ugly centipedes.Spiders will munch on centipedes - if they get stuck in their webs...P.S. I live in a garden apartment (basement) and on occasion I come across spiders, but it doesn`t bother me, since they are beneficial to humans I leave them alone, 2 days ago there was a big spider on my wall, I trapped him in a jar and put him/her outside my window, without hurting it. But if you hate spiders so much, then spray them with RAID or other insect sprays.

Spiders like to shelter in basements were it's dark. They eat nasty inscects.
Don't get rid of them, they're good for your house, they eat flies and mosquitos.
well, id you really want to get rid of them, either call a pest removal.
