ok, so i was doing my physics homework questions, and i could really use some help. this question has 5 parts but i couldn't get the answers to 2 of them. The question is from the Ch Convection and Conduction.

Air is one of the worst conductors of heat, What is the point of replacing it by the plastic foam in a Cavity wall insulation ( house wall)?
e) The manufacturers of roof lagging suggest that two layers of fibreglass are more effective than one. Describe how you might set up an experiment in the laboratory to test whether this is true.

c.)Air is a terrible conductor of heat but it does a pretty good job when it comes to convection. Foam is placed in a cavity of a wall to make sure the air does not move around and cause convection to occur.
e.) A good experiment would be to make 2 boxes out of styrofoam, one with 1 layer and one with 2 layers. It is very important that they have the same inside dimensions (this way the volume and geometry of each box is the same). Then put them somewhere cold and record the temperature inside each box for a period of time. (make sure to record the outside temp for later reference). compare the temperature data from each box and this should tell you if its worth it or not.
