24 * 2 = £48 cost
12 * 4 = £48 revenue from 1/2 of the books at £4
6 * 3 = £18 revenue from 1/4 of the books at £3
6 * 2.50 = £15 revenue from the last 1/4 at £2.50
the first 12 books (1/2 of the books) covers the cost
the rest (18 + 15) is the £33 profit
is that what you got?

24 x 2 = 48 spent.
Sells half (12) for 4 each = 12 x 4 = 48 (got her money back)
Sells 1/4 (6) for 3 each = 6 x 3 = 18 (first profit)
Sells rest (6) for 2.50 = 6 x 2.5 = 15 (add to 18 = 33 is all profit)
UNLESS
The 1/4 the books is the remaining books, not the original number of books (arrgh).
So she sells half and gets 48, and 12 books remaining. 1/4 of the 12 remaining would be 3.
3 x 3 = 9 (first profit)
The rest would be 9, so 9 x 2.50 = 22.5 (22.5 + 9 = 31.5)
I think it would be the first. So most likely 33, but possibly 31.50

Sue bought all books for 24 * £2 = £48
Sue sold 24 *1/2 = 12 books at £4 each = 12 * £4 = 48
Sue sold 24 *1/4 = 6 books at £3 each = 6 * £3 = 18
Sue sold 24-12-6 = 6 books at £2.50 each = 6 * £2.50 = £15
Total money made £48+18+15 = £81
Total money spent £48
Profit = £81-48 = £33
Good luck :)

Profit = Revenue - Cost
Cost= 24(2)=48
Revenue = 12(4) + 6(3) + 6(2.50)=81
Profit= 81-48= 33
Cost= 24(2)=48
Revenue = 12(4) + 6(3) + 6(2.50)=81
Profit= 81-48= 33
