it could be in any state-its a paradox, see if you put a cat in a box and a canister in there filled with a toxic gas that would kill the cat and the canister can pop open at any time, the only way to find out if the cat is alive or not is to open the box because the cat can not be alive and dead at the same time-It seems Asia puzl that was been resolve by one man.It is hard to seek black cat in dark room and especially if her is not in it.......
What the cat problem shows is that quantum physics can't apply to large objects and if it does it must be in a rather subtle way. We don't yet have a good explanation for why large objects don't display this sort of quantum weirdness.

basicly, imagin a cat inside a closed box, so we cannot see the cat. and then somebody asks is the cat alive or dead. if you open the box you could kill the cats since you break a vile of poison, or you could bring it back to life. since opening the box may or may not change its state, you cannot say for sure whether the cat is dead or alive, and so it must be both. it breaks down to, if you cant see it, it could be in any state
