How am I supposed to tell when the answer for a line and circle intersection question has NO SOLUTION? The question is....
2y=x+8
x^2+y^2=4

When are you supposed to realize that there is no solution.

Y=x/2+4 put that in x^2+y^2=4 and u get x^2+(x/2+4^2)=4 expand the brackets and u get x^2+x^2/4+4x+16=4 find a common denominator (4x^2+x^2+16x+64)/4=4 multiply the 4 over then make the equation =0 and u get the insolvable equation 5x^2+16x+48=0 which is false so the line and the circle do not intersect

A recondite problem. the need for professionals to read.
