Yes, it's just a "prototype", so to speak, so it's acceptable.

Note: this is assuming that "sellotape" is not some kind of metallic (i.e. conductive) tape. I have no idea what sellotape is, but if it's sticky and non-conductive, it will work as well as electrical tape.
