how much water would you need to add?x = 333.I would not answer that you need 233.3 mL of water.You would need to add sufficient water to create a final solution volume of 333.3 mL.......
So, this is a question from a lab we're currently doing:
if you want to reduce the strength of 100 mL of 10 N NaOH to 3N, how much water would you need to add?
Thanks in advance

N1V1 = N2V2

(10) (100) = (3) (x)

x = 333.3 mL

I would not answer that you need 233.3 mL of water. I would phrase it this way:

You would need to add sufficient water to create a final solution volume of 333.3 mL.
