and get into the dry cat food. Not sure about the water one. Sometimes it seems like they get stuck there on the warm dry cement. Sometimes I even find one on the scratchy plastic mud mat that you wipe feet on before going in.You would think they would avoid that, but maybe the temp is lower than the cement? If I find them on the cement, I rinse them off and roll them off back into the dirt. They seem to be thinking that there is a "restaurant" up at the top of the cement steps and climb there about every night. Are they that smart? Do they really eat dry cat food?

Many species of slugs are omnivorous; they can eat a variety of foods such as fungi, dead worms, or dead insects as well as plant matter. These slugs are important in reducing & recycling organic detritus. To slugs, cat food is just another type of smelly detritus. A slug's sense of smell are in the smaller head tentacles and it can smell food several feet away.

Slugs are very good at finding food, and yes they will eat dry cat food. If you want to stop them, you can create a salt barrier around the bowl. They won't cross that.

Idk but if you want to get rid of them try some rock salt on the concrete
