Mammals naturally care for their young so do they maintain social bonds or even societies?
-
Not necessarily. Bears, for example, do not maintain social bonds, and generally don't seem to like each other. Except for mating season, they don't approach each other, nor work cooperatively. Adult bears finding bear cubs away from the protection of their mother will kill the cubs. Cats and tigers also do not maintain social bonds, again except for mating.
