If by "rocket scientist" you mean working on space shuttles/aircraft then you would need to be versed in physics, mechanical engineering, and space travel (astronomy).

before you get to college learn geometry really well, get the book: Geometry the Easy Way by Barrons from Amazon.com
Physics is essential in rocket science but many physics students do not do well in the subject because they lack a proper understanding of geometry. They could have made B's in calculus, but without geometry they are sunk.
Then you need to go to engineering school, but I would not major in rocket science but ideally in either mechanical (best) or chemical engineering. Then when you get out of school if you do not find work in rocket science you can go to graduate school in rocket science or work in another area of engineering. The reverse is not true, if you get an undergraduate degree in rocket science and don't find work you may find yourself out on a limb.
