Apologies for low quality, the battery voltage is 12V and each components' resistance is 5Ω if you can't read it.
Can you confirm that these answers are correct?:
(a) (i) Current flowing through each bulb in figure 1 is:
12V / 15Ω = 0.8A
(a) (ii) The power dissipated in each bulb in figure 1 is:
0.8A * 12V = 9.6W
(b) Current flowing through each bulb in figure 2 is:
Parallel resistance: 1/5 + 1/5 = 1/r
r = 2.5Ω
Total resistance in circuit: 5Ω + 2.5Ω = 7.5Ω
12V / 7.5Ω = 1.6A
1.6A * 2.5Ω = 4V
4V / 5Ω = 0.8A

a) Correct
b) The voltage drop across each bulb is only 12/3 = 4 V; Ergo, P = .8*4 = 3.2 W
