I have a couple of fibroids the largest is about 7x6 cm and is located in the fundus. I am due to under a Myomectomy. My uterus is grossly enlarged and one of the fibroids is submucosal. I am not sure if this is the right procedure. I consulted with one doctor and he said laparoscopic would not be ideal as the largest fibroid is too deep in the uterine cavity. He advised a Myomectomy. But I am still unsure. Is it completely impossible to do a laparoscopic surgery?

It's not impossible, but it's not the best option on your case. Because it is so deep, the safest (in terms of complete excision) is a myomectomy.
Plus, you have more than one. One concern when there are multiple fibroids is of leaving smaller myomas behind. Often it is necessary to feel the uterus to find the smaller myomas; these likely would be left behind during a laparoscopic myomectomy. A laparoscopic myomectomy is best for pedunculated and superficial myomas. - yours is not superficial. When there are deep myomas and a large number of myomas, I believe the uterus is better repaired by doing an abdominal myomectomy.
At least your doctor didn't recommend a hysterectomy for this - many still do! I think you are better off going with the surgeon's advice....if you're not comfortable, get a second opinion, but I vote with the surgeon, based on your description of the problem.
And don't freak out - you'll be fine, really!
~~Best wishes for a speedy recovery, pamper yourself!

Laparoscopic surgery in your case might prove to be more dangerous due to the possibility of bleeding. If you need a second opinion, go to a Gynecologist as they are more knowledgeable when it comes to the reproductive system. Good luck. I'm sure you will be able to handle it.

Yes it might be. If you read online about it- there are many reasons that laparoscopic surgery should not be done. If they get in there and try - you could bleed to death! Some things they can't handle that way sadly!
They do have other procedures - research them and always get a second opinion! Ask the docs if need answers- that is their job to answer you!
