Krishnamurthy say: y = 4/5x + 2
y = 2/5 (2 x + 5)
x = 5/4(y - 2)

Como say: Presentation is open to doubt due to lack of brackets.
Is it meant to be :-
1)
y = (4/5) x + 2 ?
2)
y = 4/(5x) + 2 ?
3)
y = 4 / (5x + 2 ) ?
Will have a go at :-
1)
5y = 4x + 10
4x = 5y - 10
x = (5/4) y - 5/2
PS
Remember to use brackets ! ! !

This is how you do it.
Go to https://www.desmos.com/calculator
Type in y = 4/5x + 2
Then type in 5y - 6 = x
Are they the same line?
No???
Then try again.
Anyway
y = 4/5x + 2
subtract 2 from both sides
y - 2 = 4/5x
Now multiply with 5 and divide with 4
(5y - 10)/4 = x
Or first multiply everything with 5 and divide with 4
y = 4/5x + 2
5y = 4x + 10
5y/4 = x + 10/4
x = 5y/4 - 10/4
x = 5y/4 - 5/2
Or first move 4x to one side and then divide with 4.
5y = 4x + 10
4x = 5y - 10
x = (5y - 10)/4

David say: If: Y = 4/5x +2
Then: Y -2 = 4/5x and 5x(Y -2) = 4 or 5x = 4/(Y -2)
Divide both sides by 5 to make x the subject of the formula

Robert say: Assuming you mean y = (4/5)x + 2,
first multiply both sides by 5:
5y = 4x + 10
4x = - 5y + 10
x = (- 5y + 10) / 4
