The formula for the area of a circle is Area = pir^2.A = 3.Since it is a half circle we take 1/2 of 3.14159 times 49 = 153.9379/2 = 76.97.......
Math Question:

Rectangle With A Half Circle On The Side, a line dividing them.

Rectangle Dimensions:

Height: 14 Meters
Width: 5 Meters

Try to help???

5 times 14 gives the area of the rectangle = 70 sq meters.

You said the rectangle height is 14 m. This is also the diameter of the half circle.

The formula for the area of a circle is Area = pir^2. A = 3.14 times 7^2 ( radius = 1/2 of the diameter = 7)

Since it is a half circle we take 1/2 of 3.14159 times 49 = 153.9379/2 = 76.97.....Area = 76.97 + 70 =

146.97 = 1/2 circle + rectangle = 146.97 sq meters.

You need to tell us if the half circle is on the long side (14 meters) or short side (5 meters). You can find the area of the rectangle and the half circle separately and add them together. The area of the rectangle is 14 x 5. The area of the half circle is 1/2(pi)(r)^2. You literally just plug the radius of the half circle into the circle area formula then half that value. So if the half circle is on the long side, for example, the area would be (1/2)(pi)(7)^2 because the radius is half the height of the rectangle

There is not enough information here to answer the question. A half circle on which side? What is the meaning of "a line dividing them? Does the diameter of the half circle equal one of the sides?
