|6 - 3x| = 5x + 1

6 - 3x = 5x + 1 or 6 - 3x = -5x - 1

6 = 8x + 1 or 6 + 2x = -1

5 = 8x or 2x = -7

x = 5/8 or x = -7/2

only answer that checks is x = 5/8 <==ANSWER
