Will quantum mechanics play a key role in engineering in general in the future

All energy has to come from somewhere.... Even in what looks like an over unity machine. There is something going on thats giving it energy that someone just isnt aware of.......

I must say though, that video is kinda sketch. it doesn't explain anything. I may read the papers it gave links to, but you should find some more convincing videos. i know magnetic motors have come about, but what's to say that that one was above unity? He talked about measuring things, but never did, took things apart, but never showed us what they were, talked about free energy, but never said how. I'm a little bit skeptical of that guy in particular, not to say that it's impossible though. Energy is not "free" it has to come from somewhere. Nikola Tesla did some cool experiments pulling energy out of the atmosphere, enough to damage the power plant that supplied him power due to a backup into the grid from his laboratory (at least that is claimed). It could be said that that energy was "free", but it came from somewhere and he made an apparatus to pull it down. All energy has to come from somewhere.... Even in what looks like an "over unity" machine. There is something going on that's giving it energy that someone just isn't aware of.

TANSTAAFL There ain't no such thing as a free lunch

thermodynamics not only is it impossible to get more than you pay for but you never even get that much

Q_M physics of the sub atomic. the universe is REALLY WEIRD

the smaller we make sour technology the more Q-M will have to be considered.

Transistors are Q-M devices electrons can move "through" potential energy barriers even if they do not have enough energy to go "over"

Quantum mechanics doesn't work that way. It only works different on extremely small length scales, like 10s of nanometers or less. When you increase the length scales to macro-sized objects, it all simplifies to "traditional" physics.

All they show in that video is a big opaque cylinder and some metal bricks. The video is from two years ago. If it really worked, where is it now?

There are many successful free energy devices. However, their success lies in convincing stupid investors to donate their money. None of them actually create free energy. This one is no different.

Quantum mechanics already plays a key role in many industries, especially industries which deal with semiconductors.

I don't think the machine convinced anyone. I'm certainly not convinced that it was operating withouth external power.
