If sapphires are blue, rubies are red, and emeralds are green, which gemstone is yellow?

answers:
Atarah Derek say: You just described two gems: Corundum and beryl. Both come in a variety of colors, including yellow. Corundum that is any color but red is known as a sapphire, with white and yellow being two common forms. Red corundum is called a ruby. Pink or orange sapphires are often called padparadschas.
Beryl has a different name for most every color: Emerald (green), aquamarine (blue), goshenite (colorless), morganite (pink) and simply beryl (yellow, orange, red).

Sapphires can be different colors. Both sapphires and rubies are corundum. It's the inclusions that give many minerals different colors.
