Which of the following is NOT true about glycolysis
A. The enzymes that carry out the reactions of glycolysis are located in the cytoplasm, not bound to any membrane or in any organelle.
B. Glycolysis produces a total of 2 ATP molecules for each molecule of glucose.
C. Glycolysis occurs only in prokaryotic cells.
D. Glycolysis does not make use of the electron transport chain or ATP synthase enzyme.
E. Glycolysis is always the first stage of respiration, even when oxygen is present.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

A..the process of glycolysis, or the breakdown of glucose in the Krebs cycle, happens on membranes in the mitochondria of the cell, not in the cytoplasm. Glucose diffuses into the cytoplasm from the blood plasma, but the reaction requires enzymes and electron transport chains which are only located in the mitochondria.
