Do a search for "projection eclipse viewer" -- there are a number of articles about these simple devices. The eclipse won't be visible after sunset, but you can use the same viewer to watch the transit of Venus across the face of the Sun in a few weeks, and to look for sunspots.

You can use a pair of binoculars or a telescope but make sure they have special lens made for solar use or else DO NOT use a regular pair of binoculars or a telescope or else it will ruin the retina of your eyes.

Else all you can do is take a quick glance using dark glasses. It is too risky to look at otherwise.
