Mole Concept: Given 2.50 moles of ammonium phosphate...

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any answers.2.5mol (NH4)3PO4 * [3mol NH4+ / 1mol(NH4)3PO4] = 7.Answer: 7.I think there is no need of finding the formula mass of ammonium phosphate and ammonium ions because if they are divided,......
((NH4)3PO4) formula units, calculate the number of moles of ammonium (NH4+) ions:

So I approached this question by finding the formula mass of ammonium phosphate, and then the formula mass of ammonium. But then I was stuck.
I found this question online and discovered that you have to divide the formula mass of ammonium by the molar mass of ammonium phosphate, then multiply by 2.5, but why? I don't understand how that process works, I want to understand how it works so that I actually understand those sorts of questions when I get them in my exams.

Relatively simple terms please :)
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any answers.

(NH4)3PO4 --> 3NH4+ + (PO4)3-

2.5mol (NH4)3PO4 * [3mol NH4+ / 1mol (NH4)3PO4] = 7.5 mol NH4+

Answer: 7.5 mol ammonium ions

I think there is no need of finding the formula mass of ammonium phosphate and ammonium ions because if they are divided, both of their units will be cancelled giving the percent composition not the number of moles of ammonium ions. This problem can be solved through molar ratio which is 3:1.

If you want to find number of moles just divide known mass of substance by molar mass of substance.If still you are having problem so search in YouTube or browse the web thanks and have you got any free website to download full version of software free?
